Покупка товаров, ценных бумаг, иностранной валюты и т.д. с фиксированием срока их поставки на какую-либо дату в будущем, чтобы открыть позицию “быка” (bull position) либо закрыть будущую “медвежью” позицию (bear). В случае с иностранной валютой форвардная покупка может делаться для того, чтобы совершить платеж в иностранной валюте, срок которого еще не наступил.
